Sam and I headed to the mountains to chase fall foliage, waterfalls and bike races.
We drove a bunch of dirt roads and hiked two waterfalls. Setrock Creek Falls (the detail)and Roaring Fork Falls (full picture) were both very close to our campsite

Riding over the Lin Cove Viaduct and the hike to Upper Creek Falls. We used the Moon North Carolina Handbook to find lunch, Famous Louise's Rockhouse Restaurant, homemade pimento cheese and the dinning room is split at the three county lines on which it sits.

I decided to skip today's race and instead continue the romantic theme with a hike to Falls Creek Falls, a beautiful 100' drop in 2 levels in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness area. The trail head said it is a very strenuous hike for 2 hours each way. It wasn't that bad but like a lot of Adirondack Mountain hikes, it was straight up till the ridge line.... but the hike was worth it!
