A iPhone HDR on the ride tonight. Everyone can thank Deb for this image, On my ride tonight I saw a donkey chase a goat and bite it in the bottom (what a jackass) a sign that said, "no dumping dead deer on this property" and the remains from a butchered hog. Guess which one I was going to use....

Trying to eat better. Dinner was fine, the two pieces of Red velvet cake and large bowl of Blue Bell ice cream may not be the best option.

Sam and I headed to the ORV trails in Uwharrie National Forest to help with maintenance while the trails are closed. The ice was an interesting and slow drive and after talking Land Cruisers for an hour or so we started work, dragging steel guard rails into the forest, winching a Bobcat to where it was needed and installing guardrails where people have been getting off the trail. I really enjoyed driving the ice covered trails, and once again, the Tacoma and it's rear locker was awesome, even in a spot where some had to winch themselves up, the Taco walked it! I really want to get the Land Cruiser out and play!

Ice storm.... one of the ways I "sold" Deb on the Land Cruiser idea was she had a safer commute truck in bad weather. I think it paid for itself, two hours of commute in ice and fog. Full time four wheel drive, full time safety!

The clock tower at RCC. My day: 7:15am to 9:30. I ate all three meals today at my desk, and when I gave my PJ class an assignment for a 8 hour lab day, the first response from one was, "can I just take a zero?" Kinda of sucks the passion out of a long day!

Back at the new house, waiting for another contractor.

The snow storm on the year. It rained all night, and when I woke up there was nothing on the ground... yet I missed the alert that school was on a 2 hour delay. I understand the south doesn't have the snow plows etc.... but for this?

Testing a student's camera, very odd, it is tack sharp to close but we can not get a focused picture further than 5 feet away?

A bad sign if it's Sunday and I see the sunrise on the way to work!

Steph brought me a special bottle of Guinness from Ireland... it was better than what is sold here!

Foggy day, at the new and old house.

January thaw means fog.

After yesterday's lame POD, I made myself do better. I have passed these old barns and homestead on many bike rides and today after the ride I went searching for them near Cameron, NC.

The barns were painted back in 1999 by a group called the The Barnstormers lead by New York artist
David Ellis.  Sadly they are fading and falling apart. All I had was my D7000 and a 20mm lens, I will revisit them and do better!

Good morning 2013! Sam and I slept in the truck (very well I might add) and woke to a rainy day, no mtn biking but we slept in and went home for New Year's Day dinner and watching South Carolina beat Michighan.

Deb had to work tonight so Sam and I loaded up the Turtle and went camping in Uwharrie National Forest.
