Oatka Creek along the one of my favorite cycling roads. Today had a head wind and it was still a great ride.

Yeah, the end of the week. The Cruiser sits covered with stuff, no time to play with it.
14 hours training this week. 23.11 miles running, 8000 yards swimming and 113.4 miles on the bikes. 56 days to go.

My legs after 16 miles of running. That is dirt, not a tan.

Bob and Kevin ride ahead on Morgan Rd. Great night for a ride, and I won all the city limit sprints ; )

Something moved (a frog) as we explore an old lock on the Genesee Valley Canal along the Genesee Greenway.

Last track meet of the year... Steph runs a great mile to finish the season.

Sammi and t-ball, always interesting.

A 40 foot Candyland board game.

May 19, 2007

Flintstones? Better air circulation? Nope, Kevin cut out the floor of his 60 so he can build a custom floor pan with storage boxes. Mad skills...

Day 4 of video training. Yesterday I left the house at 7am, and got home at 11:30 PM, I am whipped. After driving my daughter's car all week, I woke up this morning and Billy Bob and two large pools of fluids on my driveway, one oil and one antifreeze. Back to the yard for him : (

Day 3 of video training. We have two assignments, one due today, a feature on an employee of the paper. This is a photograph of one of my four team members, "Michael Moore" shooting something to go with that feature (the one of the woman who works in the building).... this training set-up seems to be made to make four co-workers want to kill each other. There is a lot of STRESS shooting and editing on deadline. I am really starting to miss the old wet darkroom : (

Day 2 of video training. 11 hours of sitting and learning software...

May 15, 2007

11 hours of video training today. Even the managing editor even got into it, looking for a better angle for a mock accident.

Lilacs in my yard.

Freddie Adu and the US under-20 national team visits Rochester.
Ironman training last week - Felt great and had a huge week. Just a little over 12 hours total training. 22 miles running, 92 miles on the bike and 6900 yards swimming. Next week is a recovery week... time to catch up on chores!

May 12, 2007

A stocked fishing pond and we go ahead. Me 20/fish 4! Barbless hooks make setting the hooks tough, but catch and release is easier. My new lightweight rod made even the Bluegills fun ; )

Our first night outdoors this year. I cleaned up my grandfather's old camp box and it made it's first trip, worked great.

Driving home from work, I pass my favorite car wash and see this guy washing "his winter project," a 1951 Farmall tractor, he restored over the winter. This was also the first time I can remember having to explain to a subject what my POD is and why I wanted to take his picture... just think about it, a stranger stops, and asks to take your picture, for his "Picture A Day." It is much easier saying, "I'm with the newspaper..."

May 6, 2007

Another POD from work's parking lot. Ironman training went well last week. 10:20 total hours. 21 miles of running, 77 miles of biking and 6000 yards swimming. 77 days to go.

I hate it when bought parts require modification to work. The sliders for the Tacoma hit the pinch weld. The manufacturer says, just "tab" the pinch welds... that may work out west but not in the land of salt. So my afternoon was spend cutting off the plates (almost 2 hours), cleaning up the old welds (fast and lots of sparks) and tacking them back in place. Yipppeee (ps thanks Kevin for the use of shop and welding expertise)

Steph heads around for another lap in the 2 miles at LeRoy Invitational.

A worker walks between the gates of lock under repair on the Erie Canal.

May 1, 2007

I bought a used light reel and rod at a flea market and got my NY license, so I snuck out of the house this morning a half early to fish. For the season: Fish 3/ Jay 0 (that is in three states too, thinking of buying dynamite)

Stopped at a red light when I see my reflection... one more week till the cap heads off for painting and new windows. I can't wait. I hate the silver!
