Nov. 28, 2012

Starting to be put together. Started some project creep, I added valve cover gaskets and new heater hoses throughout.

Nov. 27, 2012

How the Tacoma looked at the end of the day, a rusted frame and motor.

Nov. 26, 2012

It has begun, replace one part on the Taco.... the frame!

Nov. 17, 2012

The first Bojangles Boo-Berry Biscuits for me in almost 13 years... weekend still going bad, too sick to race, so I am at the office before 8am on a Saturday, doing all the work I didn't get to this week.

Nov. 16, 2012

10:15 and no POD, the weekend is off to a bad start. We were supposed to go ride the Christmas lights at Tanglewood Park like last year, but a new charity took over the one night, once a year event and raised admission from $3 to $20 per person.

Foggy drive home.

Nov. 11, 2012

NCCX #5. I raced two races again today, first went well and I finished in a higher percentage wise than I have all season (still mid-pack) and the second one... well there was a lot of climbing and I felt it. It was a challenging course, the Wilkesboro crew did good and the race director was funny as heck. I learned after two all out races, I can not drink half a cup of Boone Winter Ale... I guess I was dehydrated, it was a long drive home.

Nov. 10, 2012

TBD

Nov. 9, 2012

Kay climbs in Uwharrie, felt great to be back on a mtn bike after so long.

Nov. 8, 2012

My long day, back to back 4 hour lectures/labs. Good news, Toyota confirmed they are going to replace the frame on the Tacoma, including brake lines, ball joints, control arms. So the tech will pull the body, motor and axles off my truck and mount it all back to a new frame. Does that count as a frame off restoration? I also made my final payment on the truck, about 2,000 miles shy of 200,000 miles :0

Nov. 7, 2012

Don Bullock, owner of Bullock Professional Lab in Albemarle, NC, speaks to the second year Portrait/Studio Management class about marketing, branding and working with professional labs.

Nov. 6, 2012

Civic duty done and the e-mailed pictured from the shop. Guess it failed, now what will Toyota do? Buy back the truck or replace the frame? I have to hand it to Toyota for standing behind their product!

Nov. 5, 2012

From three vehicles to one. The Taco is in the shop for a frame inspection and the Fit is flat, waiting for a new tire. Good thing the Turtle started today ; )

Nov. 4, 2012

NC Cyclocross race number something... it blurs together now! I even forgot I did this race last year till I drove up the driveway, it is a fun and challenging course. Sam even caught my wreck (sometimes I forget my brain and my technical abilities don't always agree) It was still great fun!

Nov. 3, 2012 (part 2)

After the truck show, Sam and I drove up Hwy 52 to Pilot Mtn for a short hike. Pilot Mountain is a metamorphic quartzite monadnock rising 2,421 feet above sea level and is a remnant of the ancient chain of Sauratown Mountains. After the hike, Sam and I headed back to Greensboro for a mtn bike ride before heading home.... Sam slept good that night ; )

Nov. 3, 2012 (part 1)

Deb work Friday night so Sam and I escaped to the Triad Antique Truck show and farmers market. Lots of cool old trucks, including tractor trailers!

Nov. 2, 2012

Dropping Sam off at a school dance.... she is growing up!

Nov. 1, 2012

Last year this tree in my yard was awesome all fall, but the storm has blown all the beauty away.

Oct. 31, 2012

My camera battery died, so I only had the iPhone, but this is Sam as ALice, but from Tim Burton's version.
