Tony wins the championship and I came in 14th. OK they were different races.
We visited my folks this weekend, so I raced in Charleston, SC today. The field was mixed with Cat 3 & 4 racers, then 15 minutes or so before the start, they announced we were racing as one class, Cat 1, 2, 3 & 4. That also meant we were racing Cat 1 time. The course was set up at Wannamaker Park and was a fast course with half on near putting green like grass and half in the woods on sandy singletrack. The 12-16th places had a fun race among ourselves, I was 12th at the start of the last lap, but lost three places on the hill run up, several us switched places on the lap and I caught 14th before the volleyball court sand trap, I choose to run it and blew by him and started my sprint... but I ran out of time to catch 13th... max heart rate was 189 bpm.

Today the Tanglewood Park Festival of Lights was open only to cyclists. We rode through 4.5 miles of lights and then hit Krispy Kreme store #2 for refreshments. KK was founded in downtown Winston-Salem, store #1 was torn down and moved to the location of #2, at least according to the employee... Funny story, the GPS when searching for KK, took us to the corporate HQs which doesn't sell doughnuts : P

Cyclocross Race #6 - Charlotte.
Today was a fun technical course, lots of off camber turns, steep hills and a sand pit. My day started as this season has gone, in the back. I rode well until my first solo wreck in a while, I was over taking a rider on a tight off camber turn when I went for the gas, I clipped a pedal, flipping me over the tape and onto my back a good 6 feet or more from the course... I lost several places but raced my way back to the rear of the middle third of the field of almost 60 riders.... It was a fun day!

Selling the old friend. After a year of searching, losing bids, etc. I found my dream cyclocross bike. A Salsa Las Cruces for sale in Charlotte. The owner even met me halfway between us and included three sets of tires, including a brand new set of Michelin Mud 2s.
Due to running late, I arrived at today's race course but didn't get pre-ride the course... but I was still going to ride my new ride (even though I need a new larger cog set)
The bike was like new... I couldn't find one mark where it had been ridden off road. I am sure I did more damage to it today, than it had in it's whole life.
The frame is the same brand and material (Scandium) as my 29er which I love. The other part of "dream bike" is the disk brakes to slow me down!
