This is the start of my day... my first real "blowout" while driving. It was loud and fast.

Sunday. This was a long day! The day started early with the Rally's Trophy competition. The events included, personal preparation, vehicle knowledge, orienteering, a driving course and self recovery. The really cool part? I won the whole thing! My prizes included a set of Maxtrax (see below) and a pair of Mountain Khaki pants. After lunch I went for a short hike along the Linville River before biking the Blue Ridge Parkway and then hiking the Linville Gorge to see the falls.

Saturday.
Classes, Re-seating a tire bead using starter fluid (very cool), my favorite truck (after mine of course) during the weekend and a lost Maxtrax. (http://www.maxtrax.com.au/) As you saw in the post above, these are super cool and work really well, and now I am the proud owner of a pair!

It was time for a weekend in the woods. The North Carolina Overland Rally was held near the Tennessee and North Carolina border, what better chance to ride, hike and drive in some dirt!
